Block time with an internal hold
An internal hold is a staff-only block on your schedule. It reserves a room or resource for a slot so nothing else gets booked there, with no attendees, price, or booking link. Use it for maintenance, a private setup, staff meetings, or holding a room while you finalise a real event.
You need the owner, manager, or staff role. Staff can create the hold but cannot publish it.
Before you start
Have the location and room/resource you want to block set up. Room is required.
Steps
In the sidebar, go to Schedule -> Events.
Click Create event.
Choose Internal hold and click Next.
Under When & where, set the Location, Date, Start and End time, and Room/resource.
Under Details, enter a Title (for example, "Maintenance block"). Optionally assign a staff owner or add an internal note.
Click Create draft.
You can also create a hold straight from the schedule editor: click an empty slot and choose Event / hold, which opens the same wizard prefilled with that slot.
What happens
The hold is saved as a draft and becomes active when you publish the schedule week. Once live it blocks the room for that time. It never shows on the public schedule, has no capacity or payment, and cannot be booked by customers.
Notes
An internal hold has no attendee checkout, price, guest link, or FAQs - it is only a block.
To reserve time for a real bookable event instead, use one of the other event types.
Troubleshooting
The slot is still bookable. The hold is a draft until you publish the schedule week (owner or manager).
You cannot publish. Only owners and managers can publish; ask one to publish your draft.
