Edit a scheduled class
Change a single class's time, room, teacher, class type, or capacity. Edits are made in the schedule editor and take effect when you publish. Existing bookings move with the class automatically.
Staff can prepare edits, but only the owner or manager role can publish them. Editing is scoped to one location at a time.
Edit a class
1. Go to Schedule -> Overview and click Edit schedule. Choose a location if you are asked.
2. Click the class you want to change. Its editor opens.
3. Change any of:
- Class type (this sets the class title)
- Start and End time
- the teacher and the Room
- under More options: Capacity (tick "Override capacity"), Date, and an internal Note
4. Close the editor. Your change is saved as a draft.
You can also drag a class to another day, or to another day and time in the expanded week view. Dragging keeps the same length.
Publish your changes
Click Review changes.
Fix anything listed as a blocker (see Troubleshooting).
Click Publish.
Until you publish, your edits are drafts and members do not see them.
What members see
When you publish, Ferb emails the booked members only if the change affects them:
A new time, date, or location sends a "class rescheduled" notice.
A new teacher sends a "teacher changed" notice.
A room-only change, or a change to the class type, capacity, or note, does not notify members.
SMS versions are sent only if your studio has SMS enabled.
Good to know
Bookings stay attached to the class and automatically pick up the new time, room, or teacher. You do not need to rebook anyone.
You can set a capacity lower than the number already booked; Ferb warns you but allows it, so the class is overbooked.
To cancel a class instead of editing it, see Cancel a class.
Troubleshooting
"Someone is currently editing this schedule." Only one person can edit a location's schedule at a time. Wait, or use Take over editing if it appears.
Review changes shows blockers. Common ones: the room or teacher is double-booked at that time, the teacher is not set or not qualified, or the class type is not published. Fix these, then publish.
You cannot publish. Only owners and managers can publish; staff can prepare edits but not publish them.
You cannot change a booked appointment this way. Appointments are edited through the appointment, not the class editor.
