Choose studio terminology
Choose which parts of Ferb your studio uses and what to call them, for example whether you run "classes" or "sessions" and whether your teaching staff are "teachers" or "instructors". These live under Settings and are rarely changed once set.
You need the owner role.
Set what you offer and what it is called
1. Go to Settings -> Setup.
2. In Modules, turn on the parts of Ferb you use:
- Appointments - one-on-one bookings. Choose whether they are called _appointments_ or _treatments_.
- Classes - scheduled group sessions. Choose _class_ or _session_.
- Memberships.
- Credit packs and punch cards - choose what prepaid units are called (credit, point, ticket, or session).
- Notes - lightweight team to-dos on your dashboard home.
3. Under Staff, choose what your teaching staff are called (teacher, instructor, trainer, or coach).
4. Use the guest-booking settings to decide whether guests can book without signing in, and how billing addresses are collected.
5. Click Save changes.
To change a name, click the terminology row to open its picker and choose the wording. It updates everywhere in your studio.
Good to know
You can turn modules on freely, and you will see the new names across the dashboard and your booking pages.
The prepaid unit name here is the same setting as Unit name on the Company page.
Modules turned on and off is taking effect on all your touchpoints. App, widgets emails and more.
Turning a module off
If a module still has live items, you cannot turn it off until they are finished. Ferb tells you what is still active, for example upcoming classes, active memberships, or unused credits. Finish, cancel, or let those expire first, or contact support.
Troubleshooting
The switch turns back on when you try to disable a module. That module still has active items; Ferb lists what they are. Resolve those first.
"Could not check live items." Try again.
You cannot change these settings. Setup needs the owner role.
