Make a discount automatic or code-based
When you create a discount, choose how customers get it, in the Method section. This is fixed once you save, so pick it carefully.
You need the owner or manager role.
Choose a method
In the Method section, pick one:
Shared code - one code that everyone types at checkout, for example SUMMER10. Enter the Discount code, or use Generate random code.
Automatic discount - applies automatically at checkout when the customer matches your eligibility rules. No code needed.
Klaviyo code pool - unique, single-use codes sent through Klaviyo, one per recipient. Set a Code expiry, and optionally a prefix and code length under advanced settings.
Good to know
The method is locked once you save the discount. To change it, archive the discount and create a new one.
For a shared code, you can copy the code from the discount later.
Unique per-person codes are available through the Klaviyo option; there is no separate bulk unique-code generator.
Troubleshooting
"Enter a discount code or generate one." A shared-code discount needs a code.
"Choose an expiry date for Klaviyo codes." Klaviyo pools require an expiry.
"This code is already used." The code matches another discount or gift card; pick a different one.
