Set up schedule feeds
A schedule feed is a read-only calendar link (an iCal URL) of your Ferb schedule that people can subscribe to in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or a website. Their calendar refreshes it automatically.
You need the owner or admin role.
Install and create a feed
1. Go to Integrations -> Add integrations and install Schedule feeds (see Browse and install integrations).
2. On the Schedule feeds page, click Add feed.
3. Choose the Scope for the feed:
- Brand schedule - one feed for everything.
- Locations, Rooms, or Staff - one feed per selected item.
4. Pick the sources (locations, rooms, or staff) if you are asked, review the feed names, and click Create feed.
Share the feed
Each feed has a Copy URL action. Give that link to whoever should subscribe, or add it to a calendar with "add calendar by URL":
Google Calendar: Other calendars -> From URL.
Apple Calendar: File -> New Calendar Subscription.
Outlook: Add calendar -> Subscribe from web.
The feed includes published classes and confirmed appointments from about a month back to six months ahead. It is read-only; subscribers cannot change anything in Ferb.
Rotate or remove a feed
Rotate issues a new URL and stops the old one immediately. Use this if a link leaks; everyone then has to resubscribe with the new URL.
Remove turns the feed off; its URL stops working.
Good to know
Calendar apps decide how often they refresh, so changes can take a while to show for subscribers.
This is different from a teacher connecting Google Calendar in the Ferb Staff app, which syncs that one teacher's own assignments.
Troubleshooting
Copy URL is disabled. The feed is turned off; add it again.
Subscribers see old data. Their calendar app controls the refresh timing.
You cannot manage feeds. This needs the owner or admin role.
